And so, I enter into evidence… My Veins of Pitch Blackberry Ink Tart.
Yes, we did already have a tart for the party. But this is a rustic tart, and I just love it so much. It’s so simple to make and it tastes so amazing. You’re going to love it, too. Grab a slice, crank up The Tortured Poets Department, and indulge in a dessert that’s as dark and complex as Taylor’s lyrics, with a burst of sweetness to chase away the blues.

- 1 refrigerated pie crust
- 8 oz package of cream cheese, softened
- 1 bag frozen blackberries (or fresh)
- turbinado sugar
- heavy cream
How do you make the Blackberry Ink Tart?
Preheat the oven to 400 F degrees.
Lay a piece of parchment on a cookie sheet.
Unroll the pie crust onto the cookie sheet.
Combine a couple tablespoons of sugar and the softened cream cheese until well combined.
Spread the sweetened cream cheese in the center of the pie crust, leaving about 3 inches around the edges for folding.
Add the frozen blackberries all over the cream cheese into an even layer, filling it as much as you can.
Gently fold the edges of the pie crust around the fruit, almost like you’re pleating it.
Take a small amount of heavy cream and brush it over the top of the crust edges.
Sprinkle turbinado sugar liberally over the edges as well as the blackberries.
Bake for 30 minutes, until pie crust is golden brown.
Allow to cool for 30 minutes.
Cut into pie slices to serve.
