It’s the last day for The Tortured Poets Department Party! Feeling the weight of the world on your shoulders? Does the phrase “summer fun” make you want to hide under a black linen sheet and reread Sylvia Plath? Well, fret no more, fellow tortured poets! Grab your metaphorical quill and favorite Edgar Allen Poe book, because we’re here to unleash the inner party animal (or at least a slightly less tortured version) within you. Come grab these The Tortured Poets Department Easy Party Ideas!
When we planned it, we went with what I’m calling a dark faerie academia theme, more of a “College English department” style of party if it was run by faeries complete with pastries, finger foods and drinks.
We made table tents for all the themed-recipes and drinks you see here. Get the free table tents below.

Food & Drink for the TTPD Party
We had three drinks at our party – a champagne punch that was very sweet and delicious – My Own Tears. We also had a more tart drink with a Blackberry Wine Cocktail called The Black Dog, and lastly we had a drink you can serve either hot or cold (we served hot) – a tea latte made with black tea and lavender called So Long, London Fog.
For food, we created a charcuterie tray called Down Bad Bites. We had lots of pastries including easy rustic tarts for My Veins of Pitch Blackberry Ink Tart and some easy Peach & Cream Cheese Tarts known as I Cry A Lot But I Am So Productive, It’s a Tart. We also had Guilty as Sin Chocolate Scones. You can use any bite-size candies like M&Ms, Skittles, Mike & Ikes, etc for a “Miracle Move On Drug.”

Activities for the TTPD Party
For activities we have quite a few. My personal favorite is the printable that teaches you how to read tea leaves and then you can figure out what your TTPD song is. Another fun option is our puzzles from mazes to crosswords and more. And, we have party games – name that tune trivia, emoji edition, as well as DIY your own tortured poem and lyrical pictionary is always fun.
If you need a take home gift, make these cute little pouches of lyrical tea bags.
