Taylor’s dropped “The Tortured Poets Department,” and it’s time a TTPD listening party that’s as emotionally complex as the lyrics themselves. But before you hit play, set the scene with a Down Bad Bites charcuterie board for The Tortured Poets Department Party – a spread that’s as delicious as it is dramatic. Let’s get charcuterie-ing!

Supplies for Down Bad Bites Charcuterie Board
First off, you’ll need a tray. I use a 16-inch circular one. This round metal tray pictured is one I found at Walmart years ago, but here’s a few options I think would be lovely for this party.
- Galvanized 17-inch circular tray
- Wooden 18-inch circular tray
- Set of 2 Industrial Iron 11.6-inch and 12-inch circular trays – These would be great to make two smaller charcuterie boards to place at different ends of the table.
- Deep wooden 16-inch circular tray

This is a list of exactly what I used to make this charcuterie board, but don’t feel like you need to stick with it. I concentrated on foods that went along with the theme of “Dark Academia.’

How to make Orange Honey Butter
This is super easy to make and looks amazing.
Soften the stick of butter on the counter for an hour or so.
Zest an orange.
Combine butter, orange juice, honey, and orange zest and mix it up.
Wrap it in a piece of parchment paper and let it chill in the fridge until ready to serve.
How to make Brown Sugar and Cinnamon Butter
This was also a very easy butter to make, and my kids devoured it. It’s almost like cookie dough.
Soften the stick of butter on the counter for an hour or so.
Combine butter, cinnamon and brown sugar. Mix it up until it’s well combined.
Wrap it in a piece of parchment paper and let it chill in the fridge until ready to serve.
Tips for making the Charcuterie Board
- Cut the cheeses into small hunks for easy serving.
- Fold the salami slices into fourths, like a taco and then and slotted each one together to form a chain.
- Keep the cold things cold until the last minute before seving
- Keep the sweet stuff as far away from the meats and cheeses, such as keeping the salami away from the chocolate.
- You can’t really make it wrong, just buy enough supplies to make it look full, and just add the leftovers as it’s eaten.
- Use ramekins and small bowls to add variation and keep it looking full.
- Slice the bread and put it and the butters on a cutting board next to the charcuterie tray.
