How to make What’s Your Era Cupcakes
Make any kind of cupcake you want. I used a basic yellow cupcake box mix. This white cupcake is made with whipping cream and delicious to use for these cupcakes.
Use a basic buttercream frosting. You can buy store bought frosting.
Divide the frosting into 9 small bowls.
Use food gels to get the desired colors for each of the 9 Eras. These food colorings are the ones I use the most.
Use a cupcake corer to remove the centers of each cupcake.
Fill the missing center of each cupcake with one of the Eras colors.
Top all the cupcakes with the same frosting color to hide the Eras colors. I used a pale pink and sprinkles.
When everyone has a cupcake, bite into yours and see what Era you got!
How to doctor up store-bought frosting
I used store bought frosting for these cupcakes, but I made it stiffer and fancier, like buttercream
. Did you know you can make store bought canned frosting amazing with a few tips? Here’s what you do:
- Transfer the frosting from the can into a large bowl.
- Use an electric mixer and beat it for a full minute.
- Add 1-2 cups of powdered sugar and beat for an additional 2-3 minutes, until it’s completely incorporated.
