Bring a moody, floral touch to your The Life of a Showgirl Swiftie soirée with The Fate of Ophelia Punch. This enchanted punch bowl drink evokes the haunting beauty of Millais’s Ophelia—rich purples and blues, fizzing soda, and a floating disk of edible blossoms that swirl like she’s drifting through water. Chill every ingredient ahead of time so your punch stays cold and full of flavor, not diluted by melted ice.

This is my most favorite thing for our The Life of a Showgirl party, probably because of the gothic twisted person I am.
Table of Contents
Ingredients for The Fate of Ophelia Punch
- 1 bottle (2 L) lemon‑lime soda
- 1 bottle (64 fl oz) pineapple juice
- 6 cups Blue Hawaiian Punch
- 4 cups Purple Hawaiian Punch
- Edible flowers, pesticide‑free
- Water
How to Make The Fate of Ophelia Punch
Begin by chilling all your liquid ingredients (soda, pineapple juice, both Hawaiian Punches) in the fridge until very cold. This helps your punch stay icy without too much added ice.
In a large punch bowl, pour the chilled pineapple juice.
Add the chilled Blue Hawaiian Punch and Purple Hawaiian Punch. Stir gently to combine the colors without flattening the fizz.
Slowly pour in the chilled lemon‑lime soda, stirring gently as you pour to preserve carbonation..
Just before serving, carefully place your edible flower ice float (see below) atop the punch for a dramatic, drifting effect.
Edible Flower Ice Float
This floating ice disk with blossoms recreates the romantic, haunting aesthetic of the Ophelia painting.
Make sure to do this a day or two before the party.

You’ll need:
- A shallow, freezer‑safe dish (pie plate or flat tray)
- Edible, pesticide‑free flowers (e.g. pansies, violets, rose petals, nasturtiums)
- Filtered water or boiled & cooled water

Pour a thin layer of water (½ to ¾ inch deep) into your dish.
Arrange the flowers face-up on the surface of the water, spaced apart.
Freeze until fully solid (several hours or overnight).
When ready, loosen the ice disk by running warm water underneath the dish, and lift it out carefully.
Float it gently on top of the punch in the bowl. As it melts, blossoms will drift and swirl, creating a delicate, painterly effect.
Tips & Suggestions
- Use only edible, food‑grade flowers. Do not use ordinary floral bouquets unless they’re labeled edible and pesticide‑free.
- To deepen the purple hue, stir in a splash of grape juice.
- For extra visual drama, dust with edible glitter or shimmering powder.
- Serve in translucent or floral glassware to let the colors shine through.
- If you want lighter floral accents, freeze individual blossoms in ice cube trays and scatter them in the punch instead of using a full disk.
- Serve this punch in a cool spot and consider placing the punch bowl on a bed of ice or inside a decorative bowl of loose ice to maintain chill.
FAQ
Q: Can I skip chilling and just use lots of ice?
A: You could, but the ice will melt and water down the punch. Pre‑chilling all ingredients minimizes dilution and keeps flavors bold.
Q: What kinds of edible flowers are safe?
A: Good options include pansies, violas, nasturtiums, rose petals (unsprayed), and violets. Always ensure they’re food‑grade and pesticide-free.
Q: How far ahead can I prepare the punch?
A: You can mix everything except the soda and flower ice float a few hours before guests arrive. Add the soda and float at the last minute to preserve fizz and visual impact.

When emotionally guarded Wren inherits her eccentric aunt’s cottage on the edge of a forgotten forest, she expects dust, cobwebs, and maybe a few bad memories—not a living, breathing myth. There, among the tangled trees and whispered magic, she meets Ash—a smirking, sharp-tongued satyr and the last of his kind. As the forest stirs with old secrets and ancient longing, Wren finds herself drawn to the magic—and to the immortal trickster who might just be her undoing. Where the Wild Things Want You is a steamy, spell-soaked romantasy novella perfect for fans of slow-burn magic, prickly hearts, and love that grows like ivy through the cracks.
