Ingredients to make Christmas Tree OREO Cookies

- 12 OREO cookies
- green food coloring
- sprinkles for decoration
How to make these Easy Christmas OREO Cookies
Use a microwave-safe bowl and add the white chocolate chip or white candy melts to the bowl.
Heat the white chocolate chips in 30-second increments, stirring after each time. Always remove and stir after 30 seconds, or you run the risk of burning the chocolate.
Keep heating in 30-second increments, until the chocolate is completely melted and smooth. This usually takes me about 1 minute total with a 1000-watt microwave.
Lay out a cookie sheet with wax paper.
Dip half an OREO into the chocolate, let it drip off the excess, then set it on the wax paper. Do this for all 12 cookies.
Once you’ve dipped the cookies, place the cookie sheet in the freezer for about 10-15 minutes to chocolate on the cookies.
Next, add green food coloring to the melted white chocolate to get the color you want for the Christmas Tree. Stir it until the green food coloring is completely incorporated.
Transfer the green food coloring to a frosting bag or a ziplock bag (freezer bags work well for this).
Take the cookie sheet out of the freezer and set it on the counter.
Cut a small tip off the corner from the frosting bag and carefully create zigzags from narrow to wide on each OREO cookie to create a Christmas Tree, like the picture.
Once you have piped the Christmas Trees, add sprinkles to decorate like a Christmas Tree. Non-pareils work great for the ornaments and stars work great for the top of the tree.
Pop them back in the freezer for another 15 minutes to harden the chocolate.
Then, package them up for gifts or transfer to a platter for eating.
Enjoy!
How do you store these cookies?
Keep them in a sealed container on the counter so they don’t go stale.
If I’m going to give them as gifts, as soon as they’re ready, I wrap them up in cellophane bags.
Can you make these ahead of time?
Yes, I make them up a week ahead of time. They’ll last for a month or so.
