Do you and the kids love holiday games? Then, you’ll love this Christmas Lights Scavenger Hunt! It’s the perfect thing to do on Christmas Eve Night. You also might love our Christmas Name that Tune game and Christmas Pictionary!
What are your traditions for Christmas Eve? Ours is to pile everyone into the minivan, all 6 of us and the dog, and we go driving around looking for Christmas lights. This year I’m bringing along a Christmas Lights Scavenger Hunt for us to do as we go.
How do you do the Christmas Lights Scavenger Hunt?
There’s a few ways you can play this game.
You can do the scavenger hunt by walking the neighborhood. Often, when I take the dog on his walks in the neighborhood during the holiday season my girls go with me, and we always have to walk by every single house we see with Christmas Lights. So, they can mark off their hunt list while taking a walk.
You can do the scavenger hunt by driving through multiple neighborhoods with a carload of kids. We also go on a long drive to several neighborhoods on Christmas Eve night. Santa likes to come visit our house during the early even hours on Christmas Eve. He knows we all like to sleep in on Christmas morning. During that drive, we go find as many Christmas light displays as we can.
Or, if you go to those huge light displays, you can hand out the list to the kids there. Here are a few in the DFW area here:
- Prairie Lights in Grand Prairie
- Gift of Lights at the Texas Motor Speedway
- Interlochen in Arlington
- Deerfield in Plano
