This is a very exciting treat you can make for the kids. They will love smashing it open and finding all the goodies inside. It’s very similar to the hot cocoa bombs, but instead of putting it in milk, they smash it like a piñata and find treats to eat!

How do you make Witch’s Brew Chocolate Piñatas?
First you’ll begin by melting the black candy melts. Make sure to set aside 1/4 cup of candy melts for decorating later, before melting.
I melt them in a bowl in 30 second increments, stirring after every time. By about the 2 minute mark, they are smooth. If you are having trouble getting them nice and smooth, Wilton’s EZ Melts are my go to. I had a pinch into with the melted candy melts, and they make the perfect consistency.
Make sure you use a microwave-safe bowl because if your bowl heats up too much, you end up with gloppy candy melts that will never smooth. Believe me, I’ve done this a million times, and I now have my designated melting bowl where this never happens.
Next, place the silicone mold on a cookie sheet.
Spray each mold with the edible glitter spray liberally.
Then, spoon about about 1 1/2 tablespoons of candy melt into each mold. Use a spoon to smooth it out to the edges. Make sure there are no thin spots as you smooth it out.
Make sure the edges are a little thicker, so that they don’t break when melding together.
If the candy is pooled at the bottom, spread again to evenly coat all sides, or your sphere will be less circular, and more flat on the bottoms from the pooled candy. You also don’t want the sides/bottom to be too thick, or it is very difficult to break them open with the mallet.
Place in the refrigerator for 3-5 minutes to set.
Once the molds are set, pull the sides gently away from the candy sphere, and push up from the bottom to release each one.
Microwave a small glass plate for about 20 seconds. Then, place one of the empty candy halves open side down on the plate, and twist slightly to melt the edges to make them smooth.
Now fill this half with gummy worms, chocolate candy eyeballs, and gummy frogs.
Place a second candy half on the plate, twist to melt the edges a little, and then immediately place it onto one of the candy filled halves, and twist again slightly to close.
If you have any gaps, you can heat a spoon in warm water, and then rub across the seams to slightly melt together, or you can rub with your finger. Repeat this process until you have 3 filled candy spheres.
Now it’s time to melt the remaining black candy melts the same as you did previously, in 30 second increments.
Use a spoon to drizzle the candy melts back and forth onto the spheres.
Spray additional purple edible glitter onto the drizzles, and then immediately add the eyeball sprinkles and Halloween sprinkles. Work quickly as the the black candy melts harden quickly. Let set for another 3-5 minutes.
When you are ready to enjoy, just tap with a small wooden mallet until the candy cracks open.
