What do you need to make this easy 6 ingredient banana bread?
You probably have all this in your kitchen! You just need 3-4 overripe bananas as well as self rising flour, an egg, vanilla, sugar, and melted butter.
What kind of pan do you cook banana bread in?
You can use a standard loaf pan to make one loaf of banana bread for this recipe. Or you can make about 5 mini loaves with a mini loaf pan. This is my favorite mini loaf pan. I use it all the time. I even make these simple biscuit muffins in it, too.
Over the last year, I’ve converted most all of my metal baking pans to the Sweese brand of ceramic baking pans. They are so heavy and wash up beautifully, and I just LOVE the colors they come in. Plus, Sweese has a ton of other products like bowls and ramekins, and tart pans, and pie plates and so much more.
This is not a sponsored post, but I could literally go on and on about how much I love their products. They are really good quality.
How do you make this simple 6 ingredient banana bread?
As long as your bananas aren’t growing mold, they are fine to use even if the peels are black. If they’re growing mold, you’ll need to throw them out and age some more bananas.
Peel the bananas and mash them all together.
Combine all the ingredients with the bananas and mix until combined. You don’t even need a mixer for this. You can totally use a spatula or spoon.
Grease the loaf pan with non-stick oil spray.
Fill the loaf pan 2/3rds full.
Bake for 60 minutes if using a full size loaf pan.
Bake for 38 minutes if using a mini loaf pan.
Stick a toothpick in the center. When it comes out clean with no batter, it’s done.
Allow to cool for 10 minutes.
Can you use regular all purpose flour instead of self rising flour to make this banana bread?
Unfortunately, you can’t. But…you can make your own self rising flour using all purpose flour, baking powder, and salt. Here’s an easy recipe to make your own self rising flour.
How do you store this simple 6 ingredient banana bread?
Store in a sealed container for 2-4 days on the counter. You can also keep it in the fridge in a sealed container for about a week. Or, if you freeze it, it will probably last forever, but I find it’s best within 2-3 months time.
