Over the weekend, I made up a new batch of guacamole and decided to experiment by adding Kraft’s Classic Ranch dressing as well as Kraft’s Zesty Italian dressing to make a different guacamole dip recipe with a bit of a zing. Then, I went a little crazy because #FoodDeservesDelicious and used it to top off the ultimate grilled cheese!
I grew up on Kraft’s Zesty Italian dressing. Even now, it is still my dad’s favorite salad dressing. And my kids love ranch dressing for veggies and chicken nuggets. This means I always like to keep both on hand.
I had seen that Kraft Pourables have been reinvented with a new, better taste! Classic Ranch is now creamier, with more buttermilk and savory herbs, and Kraft Zesty Italian now has even more herbs & spices! I wanted to try them to see the difference.
This weekend I was at Walmart and picked up both Kraft’s Classic Ranch dressing along with Kraft’s Zesty Italian dressing. While shopping, I got this idea to mix both into some guacamole and then put it all on a grilled cheese sandwich.
My family loves guacamole. and they love grilled cheeses. Nate enjoys trying new things, so I thought he might like this recipe. I asked him at the store what he thought about a grilled cheese topped with bacon and zesty ranch guacamole, and he did not think it was going to work.
Well he was wrong! He took one bite and said it was like there was a party in his mouth. Then, he happily devoured the rest. He said the combination of the sourdough bread with cheese, bacon, and zesty ranch guacamole just made it completely delicious.
My son got the other half of the sandwich and very much enjoyed it, too. I could tell he liked it because he had guacamole all over his face! With every bite, he kept telling me how much he loved that little “zing” the guacamole had from the Zesty Italian dressing.
Are you ready to make a Bacon Grilled Cheese with Zesty Ranch Guacamole for yourself? The ingredients are very simple. Everything I used is pictured above. This is an easy meal that you can quickly whip up. It’s delicious and filling and perfect for lunch, dinner, or even an after school snack!
Pictured below is a step-by-step of how I made the guacamole. It takes just a couple of minutes. Make it ahead and put it in the fridge to chill, and in 30 minutes to an hour, you have some amazing guacamole with a little zing!

YUM YUM YUM, your Bacon grilled cheese with Guacamole Dip recipe! Assuredly, I plan to try this, but with low-calorie dressing (I’m diabetic, type 2). I’ve never included bacon nor dressing in my grilled cheese sandwich, nor gaucamole dip. I love sour dough bread. YUM YUM YUM again! Thanks for sharing. Probably a HIT for my family of 4 adults. Seriously good stuff. If somebody tried to get between me and this grilled cheese, they might just lose a hand. LOL.
Grilled cheese with bacon and guacamole…yes please! That sounds like all kinds of wonderful!
This looks and sounds sooooo yummy!
I love this idea! I never thought to add much to my grilled cheese but this sounds like a perfect pairing! Thanks so much for sharing how to include both the Kraft Zesty Italian and Ranch in this sandwich to give it that little extra something! #client
