Do you have a sore throat or are you feeling under the weather? Make yourself a cup of Soothing Tomato Tea to make you feel a little better.
My mom loves to clean out her house and offer me things. Often, she finds vintage cookbooks with all kinds of family recipes, and she wanted to know if I wanted them. You know those cookbooks that organizations like churches or schools or hospitals sell that are spiral bound? I love them because you never know what you’re going to find in them.
My mom would always buy them, and when I was growing up, we’d find all kinds of gems in those cookbooks. It was like the Pinterest of the 1970s and 1980s.

Have you ever heard of a drink like this? I like to make beef stew with a tomato-based broth, and I love sipping it from the bowl when I’ve eaten all the stew.

How to make Tomato Tea
This tea has a little kick for your sinus congestion with the hot sauce and seasoning salt. I drank this when I was getting over pneumonia, especially when I didn’t feel like eating anything. It has a savory flavor that makes it feel very satisfying, when you feel like you need to eat something but aren’t hungry, when you’re sick.
Add all the ingredients together in a microwave-safe container.
Heat for 1 1/2 to 2 minutes.
Serve warm.
