We often call it Chinese Spaghetti. It’s a favorite here, and it reheats wonderfully the next day.

This is a list of ingredients with a rough estimate of prices.
- 16 oz spaghetti pasta ($1)
- 1/2 cup carrots; shredded ( Buy these preshredded $1)
- 2 cups fresh baby spinach; (buy in a bag $2)
- 1 lb ground beef (80/20 is $6)
- 1 white onion; cut into half rounds ($1)
- 1 tablespoon olive oil (you can also use any cooking oil)
- 1/3 cup soy sauce ($2)
- 1 teaspoon sesame oil ($2)
- OPTIONAL: 1 tablespoon chili garlic sauce ($3 – This adds a spicy kick. I skip it and let my husband and son add it to their food after it’s made because some of us like it spicy and some of us do not.)
How do you make this easy ground beef lo mein?
Cook pasta as directed on the package. Drain.
In a sauce pan or wok, add in olive oil and ground beef. Cook until brown and make a little crispy.
Add in half onion rounds and sauté two minutes.
Add in spinach and sauté one minute. Add in carrots. Cover and turn off heat.
Add in the soy sauce and sesame oil to the pasta. If you are doing the spicy version, also add the chili garlic sauce. Toss well.
Top with ground beef mixture and serve.

Ingredients
