Isn’t peanut butter and jelly a wonderful combination? It was one of my favorite things as a kid. These Peanut Butter and Jelly Donuts are a a little twist on the pb&j sandwich!
This is a super easy way to make donuts.
Usually I am a fly-by-the-seat-of-my-pants kinda girl, so when I get the urge to make donuts, I don’t want to make dough that has to take long such as needing to rise or be refrigerated. I just want to make the donuts, you know?
This is why I love using refrigerated crescent rolls. No waiting!
Just unroll the dough and cut out the donuts.
I usually heat up the oil while I’m cutting them out, so everything is ready to go.
They cook for less than a minute on each side, and then we let them cool for a bit while we make the filling.
When I was at the store the other day, they had mascarpone cream on clearance, so I bought a few containers. I thought it would be perfect to combine with peanut butter to make a sort of pastry cream.
While the donuts were cooling, I mixed mascarpone cream, peanut butter, and a little bit of powdered sugar for the peanut butter part of the filling.
I’m going to have to figure out a way to work this cream into another recipe. I loved how it came out!
To fill the donuts, just made up pastry bags of the mascarpone peanut butter cream and for the jelly. Then pipe about 1 tablespoon of the cream and slightly less of the jelly into each donut, right in the same hole.
Finish off with a dusting of powdered sugar over each donut.

A deliciously simple and easy peanut butter and jelly donut.
Ingredients
- 1 sheet of refrigerated Crescent roll dough
- 8 oz mascarpone cream
- 1/3 cup peanut butter
- 2 tablespoons + 1/4 cup powdered sugar
- 1/2 cup jelly or jam
- Oil for frying
Instructions
- In a deep skillet, add 2-3 inches of oil. Heat on medium high to reach about 350 degrees.

- Add 3-4 dough circles to the hot oil. Allow them to cook for about 30 seconds to 1 minute, and then flip over and let the other side puff up and cook for an additional 30 seconds.
- Let the donuts cool on paper towels.
- After 30 minutes, combine the peanut butter, mascarpone cream, and 2 tablespoons of powdered sugar and beat until smooth.
- Fill a pastry bag with a round tip with the mascarpone peanut butter cream and pipe about a tablespoon into each donut.
- Fill a second pastry bag with a round tip with 1/2 cup of jelly and pipe into the donut a little less than a tablespoon right next to the mascarpone peanut butter cream.
- Once you’ve filled all the donuts, then sprinkle with powdered sugar.

They were devoured! My kids loved them, and I swear they tasted just like bakery style cream filled donuts, only better! I can’t wait to try this out again with some other fillings.

Wow that is expensive! I didn’t realize until just a few months ago that peanut butter was a weird American thing and it wasn’t very common in Europe.
OMG, those sound awesome. I love these so much and can’t wait to make them.
Oh that looks great. I have to make this and the others. Might take me a bit
Yummy. I bet these are delicious. Hmmm makes me wonder if these would be good stuffed with Nutella or cream cheese.

Holy cow! I didn’t know donuts could be do easy! These look amazing! I wouldn’t dare to have those in the same house as me. I could demolish a dozen of them in one sitting! Pinning!
You outdid yourself on this one. What a delightful tasty treat.
Okay got to admit that this is an amazing idea indeed for donuts. I am for sure going to have to make these and I know the family will love them. Thanks for sharing.
I don’t like jelly but I certainly would make these donuts with peanut butter!! YUM!
This seems like such and fun and obvious flavor combo, more bakeries should offer these. These look amazing!
