How do you make these DIY Mini Witch Hats?
If you’re brave enough, just cut the bottom of each min cone into a circular shape.
If you don’t feel confident enough to do it, like me, then place a 3.5” circle template over the plastic cone and trace the circle with a permanent black marker.
Trim the excess plastic away from the base of the cone with a pair of scissors. This will take a little bit of strength, but not a lot.
Paint the plastic cones with black acrylic craft paint. Let it dry and apply a second coat, if necessary. You can also use black spray paint.
Measure and cut 8-inch lengths of the burlap trim. Hot glue the trim around the base of the cone. Then, trim any excess with scissors.
Cut the plastic ring circle from the back of the jeweled spider rings.
Paint the legs and body of the spiders with light gray acrylic craft paint.
If you don’t have gray, mix some black and white acrylic paint to create your own gray paint.
Measure and cut -inch lengths of the gingham ribbon. Fold it in half and attach to the back of the spiders with hot glue. Then, trim the ends of the ribbons with notches.
Attach the spider jewel and ribbon to the burlap hat band of the witch hat with hot glue.
