This cute and silly picture book follows a little mole on a mission to find the perfect hat. He tries on a bunch of funny ones—some too big, some too silly—until he finally decides to make his own.
The story is short, easy to follow, and great for toddlers and preschoolers. The pictures are simple and fun, making it perfect for storytime or early readers who are just starting to explore books on their own.
Best of all, there’s a sweet little message tucked in there: sometimes the best solution is the one you create yourself.
If your kid loves hats, animals, or just a funny little adventure, Is That My Hat? is a great pick. Plus, it might even inspire a little DIY hat-making session at home!

Kevin Payne is an author, illustrator, and poet from Devon, England. He was an elementary school teacher for seventeen years and still loves working with children to develop their skills and love of words. Away from writing, Kevin plays soccer, writes songs, and is a local town crier.
