How do you make Super Easy Deep Sea Shark Fishing Themed Cupcakes?
I like to make these with a box mix of the Funfetti cake mix and Funfetti aqua frosting because it’s so perfectly festive for a party with it’s sprinkles inside the cupcakes. But, you can literally make any type of cupcake – chocolate, strawberry, white. You could even use food coloring and make your cupcakes blue for the water!
Once the cupcakes are completely cool, scoop the blue frosting into a piping back with the star tip.
Pipe each cupcake with a swirl of frosting.
If you don’t have a piping bag, you can use a ziplock bag and cut a hole in a corner and swirl it on or you can just slather each cupcake with a knife. No worries!
On one side of the cupcake gently press the shark into the frosting with it’s head more up than the tail.
Now we’ll make the pretzel fishing rods.
Tie a small knot on one end of the Twizzler and slide the pretzel into it.
Insert the pretzel into the frosting and slightly into the cupcake and measure the Twizzler to see how much to cut off for excess Twizzler. Keep enough excess to slide the end of the Twizzler under the head end of the shark into the frosting.
Your pretzel fishing cupcake is done!
Feel free to jazz it up with some sprinkles! Maybe some blue sanding sugar or a sparkly ocean or some little fishies?
