What do you need to make Grinch Cookie Dip?
You’ll need a block of cream cheese, a bag of sugar cookie mix, whipping cream, green food coloring, and red sugar sprinkles.
How do you make Grinch Cookie Dip?
First, we’re going to start with the cream cheese. Make sure you’ve left it out for a little bit so it’s room temperature.
If I forget to leave it out, I just microwave it about 30 seconds and it’s good to go.
Using an electric mixer, beat the cream cheese until it’s smooth and creamy.
Next, add about half the bag of sugar cookie mix to the cream cheese and continuing beating until it’s well combined and smooth.
Add in 4 tablespoons of heavy whipping cream and mix. The BEST heavy whipping cream is Kroger brand. I have never seen whipping cream as thick as that store brand. It’s my favorite because it’s so thick, it whips up fast.
Once the whipping is well incorporated, if the dip looks too dry add more heavy cream, about 1 tablespoon at a time until it’s thick, but not dry.
Add in one drop green food gel or 2-3 drops of liquid food green food coloring and whip it until it’s well mixed.
Transfer the dip mixture to a bowl.
Then, add red sprinkles in the shape of a heart. Now some of us aren’t so artistically inclined, so take a piece of paper and cut a small heart out to make a “stencil.” Then, just hold the stencil or lay it over the one side and shake the sprinkles into the stencil. Then, carefully remove it. And voila! you have a little red heart! Or, you can skip the heart and just add some cute heart sprinkles to the whole cookie dip!
To make it rather Christmas-y, I like to serve it with graham crackers or ginger snap cookies or pizzelle cookies. But, you can totally just use chocolate chip cookies or sugar cookies or whatever cookies you have on hand — even OREO cookies!
