- large bowl
- electric mixer – I love this cordless one, and I use it all the time.
- spatula
How do you make Unicorn Cake Dip?
This dip goes together so easily.
First, open up all the Little Debbie’s Unicorn cakes and break them up into the bowl.
Next, add the cream cheese, milk, and vanilla to the cakes.
Then, mix it all up until it’s fairly smooth.
If you want to make it pinker, add a couple drop so bright pink food coloring.
Fold in the Cool Whip with a spatula.
Chill for at least 30 minutes.
I like to transfer it to a new bowl just to look pretty for serving. But, you can keep it in the same bowl.
Then, when you’re ready to serve, top the unicorn cake dip with sprinkles.
Serve with cookies, pretzels, fruit, and more!

What do you serve for dipping into the Unicorn Cake Dip?
There are so many options! Here’s a few to get you started:
- pretzels
- animal cookies
- frosted animal cookies – my favorite to serve with Unicorn Cake Dip!
- apple slices
- peach or nectarine slices
- crackers
- pretzel rods
- strawberries
- pineapple spears
- graham crackers
- wafers
What can you substitute in this recipe for Unicorn Cake Dip?
You can substitute whipped cream for the Cool Whip, but it does have a tendency to get a little watery. I find that Cool Whip is more stable in these types of dips.
You can also substitute cream for the milk for a slightly thicker and richer Unicorn Cake Dip.
The Unicorn Cakes have a strong strawberry flavor, so you can also leave out the vanilla extract if desired.
Can you make Unicorn Cake Dip ahead of time?
I would recommend making it up the same day as you want to serve it or just 24 hours in advance, as long as you wait to add the sprinkles until you are ready to serve. Otherwise, the sprinkles can bleed into the dip and not look very pretty.
How do you store leftover Unicorn Cake Dip?
I store it in a sealed container in the fridge for up to 2 days.
Use this recipe with other Snack Cakes!
You can totally make this recipe using similar snack cakes such as Little Debbie’s Birthday Cakes or Fancy Cakes. You could even use this recipe for other snack cakes like Zebra Cakes and the Fancy Fudge Cakes. For the chocolate cakes, I would leave out the food coloring as it won’t color chocolate very well.
