It takes just TWO INGREDIENTS to make Nerds Ropes!
You’ll need a bag of gummy bears and two “movie theater” boxes of Nerds candy.
You can use a bag of all the flavors of gummy bears, or you can use just one flavor. I wouldn’t recommend the sour ones with the extra sugar on the outsides because that may change up the consistency of the melted gummy bear ropes you’re making.
You can also use whatever Nerds flavors you like. My personal favorites are Strawberry and Grape, but Rainbow Nerds are usually the easiest to find in the big boxes.
How do you make Nerds Ropes?
This is the fun part!
Melt the gummy bears in the microwave for 30-45 seconds and pour into squeeze bottle.
Fold a sheet of aluminum foil to create 5 troughs like sections.
Fill sections with Nerds candy.
Squeeze a thin line of gummy candy over the nerds making a few passes back and forth.
Top the gummy candy with more Nerds.
Compress the foil sections together packing in the walls around each rope.
Let the ropes site for 18-20 hours to allow the gummy candy to solidify and dry. This helps making the removal of the ropes to be easier.
