Have you ever found Sausage Rolls at your local donut store? My husband and son LOVE these things and always prefer to get them over donuts. I think they’re crazy to pass up donuts for them, but whatever.

So, these are pretty easy to make at home with your air fryer, and I love surprising them with something yummy like this.

What do you need to make Sausage Kolaches?
You’ll need a few things as you’ll need to make the dough before cooking them in the air fryer.

- flour
- milk
- active dry yeast
- sugar
- melted butter
- eggs
- breakfast sausage links
How do you make Air Fryer Sausage Kolaches?
Place warm milk, sugar and yeast into a mixing bowl. Stir and let sit for 5 minutes to foam up.

Add the melted butter, 2 eggs and half the flour. Mix with a dough hook until we’ll combined. Once combined. Add the remaining flour.
Once dough has formed a ball, place dough ball in a well-oiled bowl, cover and let rise for 2 hours until it doubles in size.

Place sausage links into a skillet and brown them off until fully cooked.

Place the dough ball on a floured surface and divide into 12 equal parts.

Roll out each section into a rectangle and roll each sausage link with dough.
Let rolled kolaches rise for 10 more minutes.

Place kolaches in oiled air fryer basket, coat with egg wash and cook on 400° for 6 minutes or until golden brown.
Remove and let cool.
Can you make these Sausage Rolls up ahead of time?
You can, but I don’t think they taste as fresh. The dough is pretty much just like donut dough, so day-old donuts do taste like day old versus making them fresh. And, I think this is true for the sausage rolls as well. If you can, I’d recommend making them as close to serving as you can.
How do you store leftover Air Fryer Sausage Rolls?
While they don’t taste as amazing as they are fresh out of the air fryer, you can also store the leftover sausage rolls. I keep them in a sealed container like a ziplock bag for up to 2 days.
