My kids’ favorite summer movie just recently came out on Blu-Ray/DVD at Target, and we couldn’t wait! Which one? Minions © 2015 Universal Studios. All rights reserved. Of course!
Have you seen it? My kids were so excited, so I knew when it was coming out on Blu-Ray/DVD we had to make a run to Target and have a fun movie night. The Minions Metalpak Blu-ray/DVD – Deluxe is only available at Target! This special version includes 40 minutes of Target Exclusive content!
Target is my one-stop shop to get everything for the perfect movie night which means I can get all my supplies to make something fun to eat to go along with our movie night!
Illumination Entertainment’s Minions was the inspiration for my fun-filled movie-watching treat! This time I made Minion Ice Cream Gelatin treats! They’re very easy to put together.
I found this tutorial was easier to show you with a video, so check it out here:
You will start with the blue gelatin and mix it with 1 package of unflavored gelatin and 2 cups of boiling water. Stir it until the gelatin is completely dissolved. Then, add in 1/3 of the ice cream. I just eyeball it. You’ll mix this until it’s completely melted.
I used little bathroom cups that are about 3 ounces each. Then fill each little cup halfway with blue gelatin. Put them in the fridge for at least a couple hours until they are firm.
Then, it’s time to make the yellow gelatin. I used pineapple flavor instead of lemon. You will do the exact same thing in making the yellow gelatin. Once you have it ready with the mixed in melted ice cream, fill up the remainder of the cups to the top. Then, put them right back in the fridge for another 2 hours.
Then, it’s time to unwrap them!

I found this adorable cupcake toppers that fit perfectly into the gelatin treats. I tried using some little minion eyeball candies, but they would not stick with anything. I tried frosting, honey, and whipped cream, and finally gave up. But, I do love these little cupcake toppers. The eyes move with you!
My kids got a total kick out of these little treats. They’re easy for little hands and a perfect little finger food for movie watching.
These are really fun to make. I can totally see these as a perfect little treat for our next birthday party!
