Do you like to give gifts in mason jars like baking ingredients, hot chocolate, cookies, etc.? Some of my fondest memories were when my mom and I would make mason jars for my teacher gifts each year in elementary school. We’d make spiced tea jars and hot chocolate jars, and I’d tie little tags of instructions on them.
When we made our jars, I’d use my mom’s pinking shears and just put some holiday fabric in the top of the lid. But, I’ve got something even better today! These are so much fun and come out looking amazing. You can turn those mason jars of treats into snow globes! Even empty jars would make beautiful centerpieces.
Mason Jar Snow Globes
- Wide Mouth Mason Jars
- Miniature Christmas ornaments
- Clear Christmas ornaments
- Glue gun
- A bag of fake snow
- White card stock
Cut the strings off the miniature ornaments.
Using the lid of the mason jar trace the inner circle part on the white card stock.
Cut the circle and hot glue it to the inner part of the lid.
Create a scene by hot gluing the ornaments onto the white card stock attached to the lid.
Add snow to your scene.
Open your clear plastic ornament so it’s in two pieces. Attach one half of the ornament to the outer portion of the mason jar lid with hot glue.
Place your dome onto the jar making sure the small part of the ornament that is meant to have the string attached is at the back of the jar.
Add cookies, candy, a baking mix, or whatever you would like inside the jar complete it.
