Ingredients to make Triple Chocolate Poke Brownies
- 1 box of Brownie Mix (13 x 9 pan size)
- oil
- water
- eggs
- 2 regular sized Hershey Bars
- 1 can chocolate frosting
How to make Triple Chocolate Poke Brownies
Preheat the oven and spray a 13 x 9 pan with non-stick oil spray. Don’t use a smaller 8 x 8 pan because we’re turning these into “poke” brownies and the Hershey Bar pieces will get a little lost in thicker brownies.
Make the brownie mix according to the package.
Transfer the brownie batter to the 13 x 9 pan and bake them according to the instructions.
While the brownies are cooking, break up the Hershey bars into the small tiny bars. Then, break the small bars in half.
When the brownies are done, immediately poke about 24 holes in the brownies 4 x 6 rows. I use the back of a fork or a butter knife because they’re wider and the Hershey bar pieces fit perfectly into that size.
Insert the halves of Hershey Bars into each hole – 2 pieces each hole.
Let the brownies cool for about 20 minutes or so, and then frost with the frosting.
Serve immediately!
How to store the leftovers?
Just cover the baking dish with plastic wrap or foil and leave it on the counter for up to 4 days.
Can you substitute the chocolate frosting?
Yes, you can use any frosting you want. Canned frosting is amazing when you don’t have time to make it from scratch.
I have made these using this old fashioned fudge frosting recipe, and they are to die for! But, it takes a little extra effort.
Can you substitute the Hershey Bars?
Yes, you can substitute any chocolate bars or even milk chocolate chips. I would avoid semi-sweet chocolate chips as they might be a little strong for this one.
Can you make these ahead of time?
Yes you can! I would make them up to a day in advance.
