How do you make Cornbread Swirl Corn Dogs?
These are so easy to make, and the kids can totally help!
Spray a cookie sheet with nonstick oil spray. I recently tried out PAM Ultimate Spray, and not a single cornbread stuck to the pan.
Skewer each hot dog. My skewers are actually 12-inch bamboo skewers because I couldn’t find the 6-inch ones, but I think 6-inch works better, so you don’t have to shove the skewer so far up the hot dog.
Then take a cornbread swirl and wrap it around each hot dog.
Bake for about 10 minutes, until the cornbread swirls are nice and golden brown.
Remove from the pan for the oven and let them cool for a couple minutes before removing the corn dogs from the pan.
Serve with mustard, ketchup, or your favorite dipping sauce.
How do you make Honey Mustard for Corn Dogs?
One of my family’s favorite dipping sauces is homemade honey mustard with equal parts honey and mustard.
Can you make these Cornbread Swirls Corn Dogs ahead of time?
I would not recommend making them ahead of time. I think they taste so much better fresh from the oven. But, you can make them ahead and store them in a sealed container like a zipper baggie in the fridge and reheat in the microwave or air fryer.
Can you cook these Cornbread Swirls Corn Dogs in the air fryer?
Yes you can! I cook them at 375 F degrees for about 8-9 minutes, checking after 6 minutes for the cornbread swirls to turn golden brown.
How do you store leftover Cornbread Swirls Corn Dogs?
Store them in a sealed container like a zipper baggie in the fridge for up to 2-3 days and reheat in the microwave for 30 seconds or for 2 minutes in the air fryer.
