Trace the Monster Book cover pattern onto brown felt and then cut out with scissors.
TIP: cut inside the traced lines for a clean, finished project.
To give the texture of fur, gently sand the surface of the felt with twisting motions. This will allow you to use simple supplies like felt without purchasing expensive faux fur.
Trace two sets of Monster teeth onto off white felt and then cut out with scissors.
For the forked tongue, trace the shape onto Red Felt and then cut out with scissors. This project is so easy to make with the kiddos!
Using a glue gun and glue sticks attach the teeth to the top and bottom edge of the cover of the book.
Use the tips of the scissors to press the felt into the warm glue to ensure good adhesion. Liquid glue would also work for this project, but you will have to wait for it to dry.
Open the book to a random page and attach the base of the tongue to that page. You can also attach the tongue to the inside of the front or back cover OR leave it loose and use it as a bookmark.
Starting at one edge, attach the brown felt cover to the outside of the Monster Book in small sections, using a glue gun. This will ensure that there is good adhesion.
Wrap the cover around the book, gluing as you go and then secure the opposite edge.
Don’t glue the spine, so the cover has room to allow the book to open and close.
To finish, attach four large wiggle eyes in random order on the top cover of the Monster Book. Mix it up by using wiggly eyes of different sizes.
This quick and easy Monster Book Felt Craft is perfect to make at a Wizard themed Birthday Party, or even makes a great gift.
