These 3-Ingredient Chili Cheese Puffs have quickly become a popular thing in our house. My husband and my teenager are always asking for them. The best thing is that they take just minutes to put together.

I actually found a similar recipe in a book and thought they looked intriguing. So, when my 10 year old had finished her homeschooling for the day, we made tried our own version.
I thought it would be a fun skill to teach my 10 year old how to stuff dough and bake it. She loves to bake. So, as an incentive for finishing up her homeschooling in a timely manner, we make a recipe after her work is done. Plus, it’s a great way to use math in real life.

What’s a Chili Cheese Puff?
It’s basically a crescent roll stuffed with chili (with no beans) and shredded cheese. They are perfect for dad to snack on while sitting on the couch watching football. They are most definitely kid and teenager-approved.
They make an easy hearty appetizer when you want something filling that doesn’t take too much work.

What do you need to make 3-Ingredient Chili Cheese Puffs?
These are ridiculously easy and take three ingredients to make. You need
- Pillsbury Crescent Rolls
- a can of chili with no beans
- some shredded cheddar or colby jack cheese
If you want to be fancy, you can add poppy seeds, which I do sometimes.
How many Chili Cheese Puffs can you make with one can of chili?
You do not need much chili per roll, so one can of chili can make it through about 32 crescent rolls. I buy the 4-pack of crescent rolls at Sam’s, and then make a whole bunch at one time.
You can never eat just one Chili Cheese Puff, so be prepared to see them disappear instantly. This is why I now make a double or triple batch.
Can you store leftover Chili Cheese Puffs for later?
Yes! We now make extras for later because they are such a favorite around here. Those that aren’t eaten right away are put in the fridge in a ziplock bag for later, and they’re easily heated up in the microwave.
