One of my favorite ways to save money is shopping at Aldi. Their prices are amazing from milk to produce to bread. Here in the Dallas area, Aldi now has Pane Turano bread, and it’s simply delicious! I’ve whipped up an easy sandwich with Pane Turano that just about anyone will devour – Toasted Salami Caprese Sandwich.
The Turano Baking Company is based in Chicago and has been serving the Midwest for 53 years. Mariano Turanoo cam to America from Italy in 1962 and began delicious baking bread. Over the past year, Turano has become a national brand and is now available at all Aldi locations in Texas.
To celebrate this launch, Turano has partnered with renowned chefs Brian Luscher from The Grape Restaurant and Uno Immanivong Chino Chinatown in Trinity Groves, both from Dallas, Texas to create their own #TuranoHack using Pane Turano bread.
I’ve created my own #TuranoHack with the Toasted Salami Caprese Sandwich. I found all these ingredients at Aldi, except the sun dried tomatoes. I just had those in the fridge and couldn’t resist. I topped it with an amazing Sweet Balsamic Dressing I whipped up with just four ingredients, and it tastes wonderful. I just combined them in a mason jar, shook it up, and poured it onto the sandwich. Here’s what I used:
- 1/4 cup balsamic vinegar
- 1/4 cup honey
- 1 1/2 tablespoons minced garlic
- 1/4 cup Basil Infused Olive Oil (found this at Aldi near the pasta)
This is a little video on how I made the sandwich:

That sounds yummy! I love a good panini. I might not be able to make thi one though, the mozz and salami would not make it to the bread.
