This is a sponsored post written by me on behalf of Tyson Foods, Inc. All opinions are entirely my own.
When my dad was a teenager, he and his dad had season tickets to the football games every year. The traffic and the crowds were things my dad grew to dread, so as I grew up, we always watched the football games on TV. Nowadays, my own family tends to prefer “home gating” over tailgating. We love watching the Big Game but prefer to do it from the comfort of our home. What’s better than lounging on your comfy couch with some amazing snacks and the football game right in front of you?
When the Big Game comes around each year, I love to make up a variety of delicious finger foods for snacking. One of my family’s favorite combos is chicken and bacon. I’ve paired these Sweet & Spicy Bacon Wrapped Chicken Strips with a homemade spicy honey mustard dipping sauce and a little cayenne pepper to give it some kick. These are both so easy to make!
When it comes to cooking, I like to take a few shortcuts because I don’t have time to be in the kitchen all day. I want to watch the game, too! One of my favorite shortcuts is using frozen chicken that’s already breaded like Tyson® Naturals chicken products.
Tyson Naturals lightly breaded chicken strips can be found in the frozen food section at Kroger or Kroger division stores. I used those along with some thick slices of Wright® Brand Hickory Smoked Bacon, which you can find in the refrigerated section at Kroger, too. Kroger is my go to grocery store. I absolutely love ordering my groceries online at Kroger now that we have a new little one. It gives me so much extra time to have them delivered. I actually had all these ingredients delivered right to my home from Kroger!
Next time you’re at Kroger, make sure to look for this label on specially marked packages of Tyson chicken products like Tyson Naturals lightly breaded chicken strips. With these specially marked packages, you know the chicken was raised with no antibiotics ever.
These Sweet & Spicy Bacon Wrapped Chicken Strips are simple to make and so is the spicy honey mustard dipping sauce. Here’s how to easily make this delicious snack:
I like to cook the chicken on parchment paper on a cookie sheet. It helps soak up some extra grease, and it makes cleaning the cookie sheet a breeze. Take the Tyson Naturals lightly breaded chicken strips right from the freezer and wrap each chicken strip with a piece of bacon.
In a medium-sized bowl, mix up the brown sugar and chili powder.
Carefully roll the chicken in the brown sugar/chili powder mix so the bacon doesn’t unwrap itself. I find using tongs keeps more of the mixture on the chicken and not on my fingers.
Bake for about 15 minutes on one side, then flip them over and bake an additional 5-10 minutes until the bacon is done.
While the chicken strips are baking, it’s time to mix up the spicy honey mustard. I find that the heat from the cayenne pepper grows on you with this dipping sauce. However, if you’re like my teenager and my husband, you might want even more heat. If so, then you can double the cayenne pepper in the recipe.
Once the chicken is done, let it cool for a couple of minutes before plating it up with some of the dipping sauce.
When you serve these Sweet & Spicy Bacon Wrapped Chicken Strips, make sure you keep some extra napkins or some wet wipes nearby as the flavor tends to stick around on your fingers after enjoying them. These chicken strips are what you would definitely call finger lickin’ good!

Oh yea!! Those look so good. Bacon makes everything taste so good. Pinning!!
I agree it is so much easier to watch a game at home and the view may be better. These bacon wrapped chicken strips look really great for homegating.
Bacon wrapped anything is a winner in my book. I use this same sweet and spicy mixture on a lot of my bacon wrapped meats. Yummy!!
You had me at bacon and sweet/spicy! This recipe looks amazing! They would be great for the upcoming Super Bowl party!
Ummm bacon?! Yes! Yes! Yes!! About to do a super market run right now!!
This is really awesome and tasty. I love the combination of sweet and savory and I’m definitely going to make this for me and my family! It’s not difficult to make either!
My husband would love these! Most of the guys I know love things wrapped in bacon. I have never tailgated or watched a game but I find it an interesting thing to watch from afar in the safety of my house. Tailgate parties tend to get pretty wild here.
ANYTHING wrapped in bacon is going to make my short list. I love the idea of having different sauces to suit different people.
A perfect party-food bite, Wrap anything in bacon and it’s a winner! love your post!
I am a sucker for anything wrapped in bacon! It is like my weakness. I totally have to try thous out ASAP!

Now that looks like a good meal. Probably would be nice to have as a dish for a Super Bowl party.
These look so great!! I personally hate bar food/the bar atmosphere in general, but nestled up in the couch at home watching the game with a plate of these sounds awesome!!
