WENDELL & WILD on Netflix
We got a sneak peek of the new stop motion animation movie WENDELL & WILD coming to Netflix 10/29/22!
If you love shows like Nightmare Before Christmas and Corpse Bride, you’ll love this one, too.
It’s about a girl named Kat who loses her parents in a car accident and ends up a Catholic school for girls where she discovers she’s a hell maiden. Two little demons, Wendell and Wild, get her help to bring themselves to the land of the living.
Wendell and Wild are being punished for something, so they’re forced to live in a bigger demon’s nostrils. Pretty gross! (And, this is why I thought Booger Popcorn would be a fun treat!)
There are some big issues in this movie like both your parents dying and becoming an orphan, then getting thrown into the foster care system and eventually jail. There’s also a transgender character, too who helps Kat. And, there’s even bigger issues touched on like private prisons.
It makes for a great a movie. We loved the story. But, I recommend it for tweens and older. We didn’t let our 5 year old watch it because things like demons and your parents dying are still too much for her.
Ingredients to make Booger Popcorn Treats
- 1 microwave bag of popcorn
- 1/4 cup butter
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- yellow food coloring
- green food coloring
- 3 cups marshmallows
How do you make Booger Popcorn Treats?
First pop the popcorn and remove any unpopped kernels and set it aside.
Next, in a microwave-safe bowl melt the butter.
Then, combine the melted butter with the brown sugar and mix it up until it’s completely combined.
Add the marshmallows and stir it up until they are good and coated.
Heat in 30-second increments. Stir after each time, until the marshmallows are completely melted. This took me about 1 minute.
Add 8 drops of yellow food coloring and 8 drops of green food coloring to get that green booger color.
Mix it up until the color is throughout the melted marshmallow goo.
Then, pour the marshmallow goo all over the popcorn and mix it up until everything is covered.
Spread it out on some wax paper or parchment paper on a cookie sheet while it cools.
Then, break it up and eat while you’re watching the new movie.
