This is a sponsored post on behalf of Barilla. All opinions are mine.

Sometimes I wonder how people survived without a microwave way back when. Just this morning I was reading a package to heat something up and the choices were 1 1/2 minutes in the microwave or 28 minutes in the oven! Seriously is that a choice? My microwave has been a time saver when making meals for my family for years.
So, you can imagine how excited I was to find Barilla Ready Pasta at Walmart. It’s ready in just 60 seconds in the microwave and tastes just like I boiled it on the stove. I can make my 7 yr old homemade mac n cheese or pasta with marinara with Barilla Ready Pasta in less than 5 minutes.

Another dish I love to whip up is Shrimp Italiano just for two. It combines my love of pasta with my husband’s love of seafood together in one easy dish. From start to finish, this meal can be ready in less than 5 minutes. Can you believe it? Here’s what to do:

Shrimp Italiano

In a microwave-safe dish combine butter and minced garlic and heat it for 1 1/2 to 2 minutes until it’s completely melted.

Add about 18 small precooked frozen shrimp that are already deveined and microwave for 2 minutes. Toss them in the butter sauce and then set them into another bowl and drain the butter.

Make the Barilla Ready Pasta according to instructions. For our Shrimp Italiano, I prefer the penne or gemelli pasta. Pour the pasta into the now empty dish. Add about a cup of Barilla Marinara sauce to the pasta.

Then, add the shrimp back to the dish and toss the pasta and shrimp in the sauce. Plate it up and sprinkle some fresh Parmesan and parsley before serving.
You can see just how quick and easy this meal is with this video:
Can you believe it’s that easy? This Shrimp Italiano is just perfect for those busy weeknights when you’re tired or just don’t want to cook.

This is a dinner hack if I’ve ever seen one! I love making pasta but it takes so long to boil the water, so this instant pasta sounds awesome!
That is neat for sure. Microwaves do wonders for our fast-paced lives. I often wonder though how safe it is to cook things in plastic.
This is a really neat recipe. I can’t believe you were able to make this in the microwave! What a time saver!
That ready pasta sounds really neat. All those times my kids want pasta – like immediately! Thanks for sharing this, I’ll have to grab some to keep on hand for our busy weeknights.
Oh wow. This is so easy and looks so delicious! This is perfect when I’m craving. Yum!
Two of my favorite things in one dish! Pasta and shrimp! I’ll have to bug my boyfriend to recreate this (he’s the chef in the house!)
This looks so good! I love making recipes that involve shrimp and lots of cheese!
My hubby will totally love this recipe! He is such a big fan of shrimp.
This would be good with just about any type sauce, I think! Now I’m hungry again… I wish I had all these at home right now.
That looks so good! We are seafood lovers over here so we’re definitely going to try that. Love how easy it is to prepare that recipe.
This shrimp looks so good. We have some in the freezer; however, its not precooked. I need to make it soon but I have not made many shrimp dishes at home.
