Ingredients to make Christmas Haystacks Cookies
- 16 oz white chocolate or almond bark
- 3 cups chow mein noodles
- green food coloring
- Christmas sprinkles
How do you make No Bake Christmas Haystacks?
Lay out a cookie sheet with wax paper or parchmenet paper lining it.
Melt white bark in a microwave-safe bowl in 30-second intervals until melted. Stir after each 30 seconds and don’t skip that part or you run the risk of burning the melted chocolate.
When bark is melted add the green food coloring until you get the brightness you want. I find gel food coloring gives a more vibrant color with one good squirt. Stir until it’s a uniform color throughout.
Stir in chow mein noodles.
Place heaping spoonfuls on the cookie sheet.
Add sprinkles over each haystack cookie.
Let them sit on the counter for an hour or two to dry, or you can speed up the process in the freezer for about 10-15 minutes.
Can you make these ahead of time?
Absolutely! I think it’s better to make them at least one day ahead of time before serving or giving as gifts.
How do you store leftovers?
I keep them in a sealed container on the counter for up to a week. Make sure they steal sealed or they will soften and not stay crunchy.
