What do you need to make a Pirate Hook?
- Recycled Cardboard (all those Amazon boxes)
- Black paper cup
- Metallic Gold Craft Paint
- Black Craft Paint
- Paintbrush
- Scissors
- Aluminum Foil

How do you make a pirate hook?
Paint a band around the top edge of the black paper cup with metallic gold craft paint.
Paint the bottom of the paper cup with black craft paint using a paintbrush.
Download, print and cut out the Pirate Hook Pattern.Â
Trace the hook pattern onto cardboard with a pencil.
Cut out the Pirate Hook shape from the cardboard box with scissors.
Cut a slit in the bottom of the cup as wide as the base of the cardboard hook using scissors.Â
Tear a section of aluminum foil from the package and cut into one-inch-wide strips with scissors. This is a great way to sharpen scissors!
Starting one inch up from the bottom of the hook, tape strips of aluminum foil and then wrap around the hook until the entire cardboard shape is covered.Â
Insert the plain cardboard end of the hook through the slit in the bottom of the cup. Bend inside the cup and secure with additional invisible tape.
Decorate the gold stripe at the base of the Pirate Hook with self-adhesive black rhinestones. You can also add some natural jute twine to the top edge of the Pirate Hook to finish.
