Help Camp Sunshine with Tropical Smoothie Cafe

I just love supporting businesses that give back in inspirational ways.  Did you know that every year Tropical Smoothie Cafe hosts an amazing holiday in June? Every third Friday they host National Flip Flip Day to raise funds and celebrate their charity partner — Camp Sunshine.

Camp Sunshine was founded in 1984 for a place to provide retreats for the entire family with children in various stages of life-threatening illnesses. They even offer bereavement programs for families who have lost a child to one of their supported illnesses. It’s the only program in the nation that offers year round retreats with respite care, recreation, and support for families, and it’s completely free of charge for these families.

Do you have a child or with a life-threatening illness or know of a family who does? You can Share the Sunshine and nominate them to go to Camp Sunshine! Here’s what you need to do:

1. Head over to Share the Sunshine.
2. Nominate your family or another family to receive hope and support for a child with a life-threatening illness from Camp Sunshine.
3. Tell the nominated family that they will receive an email asking them to fill out a Camp Sunshine Official Application so they can be considered.
4. The family must fill out Camp Sunshine application and return through mail, fax, or email

Camp Sunshine will determine the families that fit the established criteria. The nominations are being accepted now until 11:59 pm ET on June 30, 2016.

Even if you don’t have a child with a significant illness or know of a family who does, you can still help! There are many families who need the opportunity to experience happiness and togetherness at Camp Sunshine, so donations are gladly accepted, big and small! You can Donate to Camp Sunshine directly and help a child and their family.  If you’re up for the challenge, they have volunteering opportunities as well.

One of the easiest ways you can help send a child with a life-threatening illness and their family to Camp Sunshine is to head down to your local Tropical Smoothie Cafe on National Flip Flop Day! Every customer who wears flip flops on this day receives a FREE 24 oz. Jetty Punch Smoothie during the hours of 2 PM to 7 PM.  This year National Flip Flop Day is June 17th, 2016.

What is National Flip Flop Day? National Flip Flop Day® is Tropical Smoothie Cafe’s annual holiday on every third Friday in June.  They celebrate their customers and raise funds to benefit Camp Sunshine.

Tropical Smoothie Cafe is celebrating their 10th year partnering with Camp Sunshine. The work they do makes a real difference in the lives of the children and families that attend Camp Sunshine, and they are proud of their fundraising efforts. In 2015, through donations big and small, they made their goal and were able to donate $1 Million dollars to Camp Sunshine! Isn’t that amazing? This year for 2016 they have another $1 Million Dollar Goal!  With our help, they can achieve that goal again and maybe even surpass it!
