A few years ago when we had my youngest’s 1st birthday party, I found this fruit dip recipe. It had pineapple juice and cream cheese, so I knew it had to be yummy. I made it, and it was pure bliss. It really is the best fruit dip I’ve ever tasted, which is why I’m calling it French Cream Bliss.
I love pineapple juice, and well, really, who does not love cream cheese? (Yes, I see my dad raising his hand back there. He’s the only person I know who doesn’t like cream cheese.)
I was cleaning out a kitchen drawer and happened upon my handwritten recipe again, so I went searching online trying to figure out where the heck I got it from. I think it’s an original Paula Deen recipe. She’s the only backup reference I could find for French Cream fruit dip.
This is a wonderful fruit dip for a party, bridal shower, baby shower, birthday party, or just because you want fruit dip. And, it holds up in the fridge for several days, which I love.
I did adapt the recipe just a bit. I left out the 1/4 cup of granulated sugar and probably added more pineapple juice than normal. The powder sugar did a great job of whipping it up to a frosting-like texture, and it was definitely sweet enough as is, so I didn’t think the granulated sugar was necessary. As for the pineapple juice, well, I love it and wanted it to taste a bit pineapple-y!
Later this week, you’ll find some other recipes by me that involve this French Cream dip. Come back Friday and you’ll see that I turned it into French Cream Ice Cream and made a fabulous drink with it. Then, over on the Texas Women Bloggers on Friday — I’m the Foodie chick over there this Friday — I’ll have a simply divine appetizer/dessert involving this French Cream dip.Print
