We got our dog from the shelter this past summer. From the beginning, he’s been a member of the family and a big cuddle bug. He loves to climb in our laps even though he’s a 70-lb Boxer. He prefers to sleep on the pillows at the top of the bed. He even has had his own chair and sleeps cuddled up to one of us every night.
You could definitely tell he had been neglected when we brought him home. He was skin and bones and covered in sores from the flea infestation he had when he arrived at the animal shelter. But, he was thrilled to go home with us as his new family. This was his first night at home with his first toy.
It had been many years since we had a dog, so we headed to PetSmart after we left the shelter to get all he needed from a collar to toys and treats and a good quality food.
We all just love this sweet boy, so we want the best for him. I knew from having dogs previously that a meat-rich diet is important for dogs, especially when many dog foods have corn as the first ingredient. After carefully reading labels at PetSmart, we decided on BLUE™ Wilderness for Hank. It’s inspired by the diet of wolves, who are also true omnivores. Plus, it’s American made.
BLUE Wilderness is a protein-rich, grain-free food that contains more of the delicious meat dogs love. We give Hank the large breed adult chicken formula for dogs over 50 lbs. It is made with deboned chicken along with chicken and turkey meal for protein and sweet potatoes, peas, and potatoes for healthy complex carbs. Plus, it contains blueberries, cranberries, and carrots for antioxidants.
BLUE Wilderness also has:
- No chicken by products.
- No grains no corn, wheat and soy.
- No artificial colors, flavors, or preservatives.
In addition to feeding Hank BLUE Wilderness food, we also give him Dental Chews and Chicken Jerky treats. The BLUE Wilderness treats, like the food, also contain no artificial colors, flavors or preservatives so your dog can satisfy his primitive instincts the way nature intended. Wild Bones will help clean your dog’s teeth as well as freshen his breath, and your dog, like Hank, will love them! BLUE Wilderness Jerky are wholesome protein-packed chicken strips made with the finest natural ingredients to help support your dog’s strength, health and vitality.
BLUE Wilderness formulas are made to satisfy the wild spirit of your dog or cat with a higher concentration of the real meat and no grains with gluten. They offer BLUE Wilderness dry food, wet food, treats, rolls that are all made to satisfy your pets most primal instincts.

I love this! I always say that our dogs need food that’s just as good as human food. Blue is a great brand.
We buy Blue Buffalo. I did not know they made bonus but I really want to get them. My dog need something to chew on in everything we tried so far she doesn’t like.
This looks like a great line of dog food. I don’t have a dog, but I will share this with friends who have dogs.

I haven’t tried Blue dog food yet. I did make the switch to a grain free pet food for my Yorkie. He was throwing up too much because he would eat too much. Then when the dog food expanded in his tummy, it was just too much for him to handle. He quit throwing up after I stopped feeding him junk dog food.
looks like a healthy tasty meal for anyone with a four-legged family member : ) I’ll have to remember this for when I get a dog for the family!
Your dog is so cute! I have never tried this food for our dog Molly but it looks like it would be very good for her. She is quite picky with what brands she likes, but I think this one she would enjoy.
How amazing that there is such love that first you adopt such a cutie, but then feed him such amazing food. Pets are family, feed them well.
I have never tried this for our dog yet, I have to get some next time to see if they like it.
My Sister has been looking for a good quality food to change her dogs to. I will have to share this post with her.
I’ve heard so many great things about this brand! I don’t have a dog, but my brother does so I’ll have to share this with him! Sounds awesome!
I don’t have dogs, but my parents do and they just recently switched to this brand and the pups seem really happy with it!
Sounds a great food for our dogs. I will tell this to my mom
What a cute dog! We don’t have dogs here, but we have a few back in my home country and we always feed them good food. This brand sounds great!
That dog is so darn cute! I want to give him a big ol hug! Hank reminds me of a friend of mines dog and they also feed high quality food to theirs. Nutrition is so important!
What a cute dog!! Sounds like a great brand of dog food!
