Even though our favorite team was eliminated this past weekend, I still can’t wait for the Big Game! I love the excitement, the commercials, and definitely the snacks! Ā It’s a great reason to invite friends and family over.
Getting ready for a football party is always fun. Ā I love putting the snacks together and adding some festive decorations.
When it comes to food, I like to make sure there’s something for everyone. Ā I like to buy a variety of snacks from pretzels to popcorn and more. Ā Our favorites are Pop SecretĀ® Popcorn, Snyderās of HanoverĀ® Pretzels, and my husband’s personal fave — Cape CodĀ® Potato Chips. Ā I found all of these at my Walmart this past weekend.
I just lay out a spread of easy to eat snacks right where everyone can get to them in my cute football-themed platters and bowls.
When it comes to the decorations, I love to add some easy DIY football-themed decor. Ā This football wreath is the perfect thing to put on the front door so everyone knows where the party is! Here’s how to make it:
Table of Contents
DIY Football Wreath
Supplies:
- 10-12 inch styrofoam wreath
- 2 skeins eyelash or fur green yarn
- white electrical tape
- mini footballs
- glue gun
- 3-ft length of coordinating ribbon or tulle
Directions:
First wrap the eyelash yarn once around the wreath and knot it.
Now begin wrapping the wreath with the eyelash yarn. Ā I like to wrap it around about 5-6 times and then push it over together.
Continue doing this until the entire wreath is covered.
Next, position the wreath so you have it turned the way you want it. Ā Locate the 12 o’clock, 3 o’clock, 6 o’clock, and 9 o’clock positions on the wreath.
Cut and wrap a 7-8 inch piece of electrical tape around each of the 3 o’clock, 6 o’clock, and 9 o’clock sections of the wreath for the yard markings. Ā The 12 o’clock position will be left open for the ribbon or tulle for hanging.
Cut 6 of the same length pieces as before, for hash marks. Ā Then, cut these inĀ half lengthwise to make 12 pieces. Ā They end up looking are skinnier than the main yard markings.
Wrap 3Ā of the skinny pieces of tape as hash marks between each of the 3, 6, 9, and 12 o’clock positions for a total of 12. Ā Wrap these around the wreath just likeĀ you did for the yard markings.
Cut a 3-foot length of ribbon or tulle and tie it around the very top of the wreath at the 12 o’clock position for hanging. Ā I used white tulle.
Decide on the placement of your mini footballs. Ā I choseĀ an odd number of 5 to look best on my wreath. Ā Then, hot glue each one securely in place.
Now your DIY football wreath is done and ready to be hung on the front door so your guests know where to find the football-watching party!

Our team was also eliminated. Still proud of them though! Cute DIY wreath for football games! I may even be able to make that myself even with my non creative hands lol. When it comes to crafting I am all fumble fingers!
How fun and easy! Thank you for sharing! (client)
How cute is that? I should make one for the superbowl party we are having in a few weeks.
What a cute wreath!! Our team was eliminated but we are still having fun tailgating and watching the games at home.
I love the wreath, so cute and easy to make. My team hasn’t been eliminated, I’m hoping they go to the end.

Adorable! I’ve been thinking about what my next wreath to hang should be now that Christmas is over!
That is totally cute! I am looking forward to the Super Bowl…mainly for the snacks lol. I love Cape Cod chips and Snyders. I’m pretty sure Snyders are made in my state too!

This would be super cute for SEC football season! My son goes to a school that is really into football and this would be so cool to make for his apartment.
