Christmas is over and now we get to look forward to New Year’s Eve! Sometimes I wish New Year’s was a few more weeks away, so I could have a little extra fun with it and make a few more New Year’s Eve recipes.  Today I’ve got one your kids are going to L-O-V-E – The Disappearing Mocktail! Can you guess the secret ingredient?
With three kids, we prefer to celebrate the new year with them instead of going out. We watch the ball drop, watch a movie, eat and drink yummy things, and we play board games and video games all night long.Â
Earlier this week, I was getting a few last minute items from Walmart, and I grabbed some Canada Dry Ginger Ale® and 7UP®. My family loves both of these. They usually know I’m about to make fun drink recipes when I bring home 7UP®.
One of my favorite ingredients for treats is cotton candy. I’ve made cotton candy flavored recipes from cupcake to fudge. For this New Year’s Eve, we’re making mocktails with Cotton Candy!
These are super easy to make. To make these drinks even more festive, I like to sugar rim the cups and use brightly colored licorice.  You can use any of your favorite flavors from Canada Dry Ginger Ale® and 7UP®, and any flavor of cotton candy.

My kids love when I make special drinks and sugar rim the tops of the cups. Â I have to admit, I love it, too! It’s super easy to do when you use corn syrup. Make sure to dip just the edge. If you dip more, the corn syrup and sugar will fall down the sides.
After you’ve added the cotton candy fluff to your cups, then you can add a sprinkling of sugar crystals to the cotton candy. My 4 yr old LOVED this part. Then, add your favorite Canada Dry Ginger Ale® and/or 7UP® and watch the cotton candy DISAPPEAR!!
One thing we found with these drinks is that the blue and green cotton candy will keep their color when you pour either regular flavor of Canada Dry Ginger Ale® and 7UP®.
If you use pink, white or, yellow cotton candy colors, the drinks will just be clear. This is why we like to use white cotton candy mixed with Cherry 7UP®. That one is my favorite flavor combination!
These drinks are so much fun, and you can drink it right through the licorice as a straw! It’s such a little thrill to watch the cotton candy melt and disappear as you pour the drinks. Let your kids have a little fun and make one for themselves this New Year’s Eve!
If you want to make these in a more “adult” fashion, try adding 1/2 ounce of whipped cream vodka to the mix. It’s my favorite add in for these fun drinks.

Oh wow! So, so cool! The whipped cream vodka idea sounds good, too. I bet there are other flavors that would be good, too–I haven’t ever purchased any flavored vodkas, but I like to look at them!
That is way too cool! My kids would totally love that.
This is beyond the coolest drink I’ve ever seen. OMG.
Yum! That looks so awesome. Trying this!
We are having a family friendly New Year’s Eve and my kids would LOVE these! Thanks so much for the inspiration!

I think I will pick up the ingredients for this recipe and make it for my kids on new years. I bet you might even be able to find clearance cotton candy too. 🙂
I bet the kids would love doing that. Cotton Candy is just magical anyway. Happy New Year.
I love this idea! We can be super fancy and kid friendly at the same time! Thanks for the recipe!
This sounds and looks awesome indeed. The kids would really love this drink. I don’t know any kid who doesn’t love cotton candy. Thanks for sharing.
What a cute and fun idea. My kids will LOVE this!
This is the most creative recipe I have seen in forever! Awesome! Thank you! #client
What a fun idea! Being pregnant, this year I’ll be sitting at the kids table and would love this drink! I know my daughter will too! #client
What if someone doesn’t like ginger ale? Is there something else that can be used?
You can use 7UP or other lemon lime sodas, or pretty much any clear soda. You can even use sparkling water.
This is SO clever! Cotton candy is my girls’ favorite treat of all time, I definitely need to make these drinks for them
