Have you heard about Michaels Camp Creativity? It’s the perfect place to bring your kids so they can express their creativity, make something fun, unplug from technology, and let their imaginations run wild this summer.
For seven weeks Michaels hosts Camp Creativity every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from June 13 through July 29. It runs from 10 AM to 12 PM, and each week is a special theme. Each class is scheduled to take 90 minutes to 2 hours to complete. There are usually 2-3 different crafts.
The first week we attended was dinosaurs. We made dinosaur visors with googly eyes and pterodactyls that fly! Plus, every kid gets a string bag the first time they come to camp and a journal. They make a journal page for each day they attend. It was a lot of fun. She loves making art and crafts, so this was right up her alley. We both enjoyed it and can’t wait for the next class!
The price is affordable, so we have been going back every week, all three days. Molly just loves it! She gets so much out of it from the creativity and crafts to socializing with other kids during the summer. It’s fun and no stress!
This week’s theme is all about space! We made aliens out of magic clay, rockets out of foam, and painted solar systems. Coming up over the next few weeks are themes like Castles, Woodlands, The Secret Life of Pets, and Monsters!
You can sign up online or in the store. I easily signed up online, and I would recommend it. It seems Camp Creativity has become popular because they had to turn quite a few kids away this week who were walk ins as it was completely full.
It’s just $5 a class or 3 sessions for $12. The camp is designed for ages 3 to 8. However, there were kids as old as 10 in our classes, and there were toddler siblings that moms were helping. This is not a drop off or day care program. You can stay and have fun with your kids. Molly likes me to stay, but there are other moms who roam the store while their kids are in class.
The best part? Every Friday is Face Paint Friday, and every one in class can get free face painting! This is Molly’s favorite time. Can you guess what she chose to be for dinosaur week?
She was a “Kitty-a-saurus!” I’m not sure what she’ll choose this Friday for Life on Pluto week, but she can’t wait.
Ready to sign up? You can check out the classes HERE at Michaels Creativity Camp! Your kids will have so much fun!

Little minds need to keep going, and learning, and creating, even when school isn’t in session. What a great way to keep them growing and to ward off the boredom! Crafts are fabulous! The hat is my favorite I think too! Yay summer!
Omg she is so adorable. I love all the different options for crafts that michaels carrys. We are currently building a train layout in our basement so we are always finding oourselves in michaels picking up random things. I will have to make some of these with my kiddos.
My daughter would LOVE something like this, but because I work M-F, anything like this is out for us. That’s the case with most things like this, they are always during daytime hours. We get our crafting in on the weekends.
Thanks for the reminder for this because we’ve done kids workshops at Michaels before and they were always big hits with my kids. This would be a great time filler for my daughters during lulls in the summer. Your daughter is so cute :).
That’s such a cute idea! We focus so much on learning these days that we forget that we also need to foster creativity and creation just as much.

This is awesome that Michael’s is doing a creative camp for the kids. I love this idea of a creative camp for the kids during the summer months and will have to share this with other family members. Thanks for sharing the camp.
