This weekend we drove down to Palestine, TX to take a ride on The Polar Express. Every year the Texas State Railroad transforms into The Polar Express and takes riders to the North Pole to meet Santa Claus. My 3 yr old and 9 yr old were very excited. Amazingly, my teenager was also looking forward to it.
When we arrived the train and station were all light up beautifully for Christmas — perfect for pictures. Everyone from will call to the greeters were all very friendly. If you arrive early enough, there is a couple of places to grab a snack, and a gift shop.
The magical moment is when your kids see the train all lit up. As we boarded the train, the conductor and the chefs were very welcoming and excited to be there. There was Christmas music playing and the train was decorated festively. The chefs were walking up and down the aisles talking to all the children and taking pictures for families.
Soon, Santa had to go back to the North Pole, and we were headed back. The chefs were dancing in the and singing in the aisles and got the children up in the aisle shaking their bells and singing Christmas carols, too. It was definitely a magical experience, and my three children thoroughly enjoyed it!

This looks so fun! Too bad we are on the East Coast and can’t try it out. I am glad you and your kids had a great time!

I wish we had something like this closer. Too cute!
