This is a sponsored post on behalf of Review Wire Media for Warner Bros. Pictures I received information to facilitate my review as well as a promotional item to thank me for my participation.
This movie has a special connection for us right now because we just found out WE ARE EXPECTING BABY #4! My youngest was absolutely thrilled when I told her. She has been asking to be a big sister for about a year now. She is so attentive about me and the baby. Every meal we eat she asks if I am allowed to eat the food. “Mommy, can you eat pizza when you have a baby in your tummy?”
Here’s a synopsis of the movie:
Storks deliver babies…or at least they used to. Now they deliver packages for a global internet retail giant. Junior (Andy Samberg), the company’s top delivery stork, is about to be promoted when he accidentally activates the Baby Making Machine, producing an adorable and wholly unauthorized baby girl. Desperate to deliver this bundle of trouble before the boss gets wise, Junior and his friend Tulip, the only human on Stork Mountain, race to make their first-ever baby drop – in a wild and revealing journey that could make more than one family whole and restore the storks’ true mission in the world.
There’s a hilarious Lego short at the beginning about a chicken that just won’t quit in typical Lego humor.
As for Storks, it’s rated PG, and it’s a fun, lighthearted movie that all ages can enjoy. My kids, ages 6, 12, and 17, and I laughed throughout the movie. There’s nothing scary, no scary violence, or profanity. My teenager just loved Pigeon Toady and his awkwardness. He loves greeting everyone with a “Hey Bra.” She kept whispering “that guy is me” every time he said something totally weird.
At only 1 1/2 hours long, the little ones will stay entertained. There is lots of action, so the kids never get bored at any slow parts. I thought the subplot was a great reminder to parents in that it’s a message to all of us to put down our smart phones and work and hang out with your kids. They’re only young once.
You gotta check out this trailer.
There are so many funny parts right from the get go. My favorites involved the wolf pack, played by Key & Peele. They make their pack turn into some crazy stuff like a submarine complete with sound effects while chasing the baby.
I do admit I cried towards the end, but that may just be the pregnancy hormones kicking in. They have a montage of a ton of babies being delivered to all kinds of families including interracial couples and same sex couples.
Here’s some fun activity sheets you can download for the kids!
Storks heads to theaters this Friday, 9/23! Head to Fandango to find a showing near you!
