I am a Brand Ambassador for Hamilton Beach. They provided me with a Set & Forget® 6 Qt. Programmable Slow Cooker to review and one to give away to a reader. No additional compensation was received. All opinions are 100% my own.
When I think of Fall, I think of cold nights and warm drinks. I think of crisp lazy Sunday afternoons with soft quilts. I think of friends coming over for board game nights. When we have friends and family over, I usually set our island up as a buffet with a slow cooker full of something yummy. I want people to make themselves at home and eat!
I also love to make a pot full of something warm to drink like apple cider and hot chocolate. Recently, I shared a recipe for mulled apple cider in the slow cooker. Now I have a fancy hot chocolate (say “chocolate” with a french accent and it sounds very fancy 😉 recipe you have to try in the slow cooker — Slow Cooker Dulce de Leche Hot Chocolate.
I was thrilled when Hamilton Beach asked me to review their programmable slow cooker. This was the first time I used a programmable slow cooker to make a beverage. I’ve used this slow cooker several times to make a family favorite beefy onion roast, and it comes out perfect every time. I’ve had other programmable slow cookers, but they were extremely basic. This one is so much easier to program, and I love how the display counts down. You choose the amount of hours and then high or low, and it beeps at you and starts the process.
This recipe is full of milk and cream and dark chocolate chips and…dulce de leche! It all melts together into creamy deliciousness. You just can’t help but grab a mug or two.
There are times you have to move the slow cooker once you’ve put all the ingredients in, which can be a serious pain if the lid doesn’t fit just right. I always end up spilling. This is my other favorite thing about the Set & Forget slow cooker. It has a locks on either side of the lid that hold it tight. No spilling! I carried this slow cooker across the kitchen full of milk and chocolate, and I didn’t worry about a single spill.

I like slow cooker vegetarian lasagna
This is absolutely happening this weekend! What a great way to start our vacay – hot chocolate on what’s supposed to be a rainy weekend, made from our favorite flavors (dulce de leche)! Need to invest in a small crock for single serve things like this! LOL Pinned!
Comfort food is my favorite slow cooker meal.. Loving that you can do drinks in them!
I’m definitely going to use your recipe at a big Christmas party I host for the women at my church. It’s always hard to find a hot chocolate recipe that will stay warm. I think I’ve found it. It looks totally yummy!

I love roast chicken and potatoes in the slow cooker.
Chile verde!
Chili is hands down my favorite recipe to make in the slow cooker. I never use a recipe, pretty much by memory because I make it so often, especially during the colder months 🙂
I like soup and chilli.
