Now that you’ve made the DIY Soft Light, you’ll want to make yourself a reflector. If you haven’t, make sure to check that out because you’ll be amazed at how easy and cheap they are to make.
Making a DIY photography reflector board is super easy and will take five minutes. You probably even have the supplies around your house to make one. I like using the reflector board to help catch the light from the soft light and minimize shadows.
Here’s an example of minimizing shadows from one of my most recent posts. Can you see the difference in the shadows on the faces of both dolls? The reflector photo has brighter faces with less shadowing.
Supplies
- A foam core board or large piece of cardboard
- Aluminum foil
- Clear packing tape
1. Cover the front of your foam board or cardboard with foil. Leave some extra foil on the edges to fold over to the back. It’s your choice if you want the shiny side or dull side of the foil. I chose shiny.
2. Tape the foil at the seams where it overlaps with the clear packing tape.
3. Flip the board over and tape down the foil on the backside.
That’s it! You’re done and ready to work on some blogging photos.
