If you’ve ever lived with both a dog and a cat, you already know—drama is inevitable. In Ode to a Pug: THAT CAT! by Jill Rosen, we get the hilarious inside scoop from one very put-upon pug who just wants to nap, snack, and live his best squishy-faced life… if only that cat would stop ruining everything. With clever rhymes, laugh-out-loud illustrations, and all the canine side-eye you could ask for, this book is a must-read for little animal lovers.
Ode to a Pug: THAT CAT! is laugh-out-loud funny and full of furry drama with the most dramatic pug since… well, ever. This poor pup just wants peace, snacks, and belly rubs—but that cat keeps ruining everything with her smug little whiskers and mysterious ways.
Told in rhyming verse, with big feelings and even bigger expressions, this book is perfect for kids who love pets, giggles, and a little bit of chaos. The pug’s complaints are totally relatable, and the illustrations are as funny as the words.

Recommended for ages 3-6.
From the author of the award-winning Ode to a Pug comes Ode to a Pug: THAT CAT! – the first in a series of amusing, adorably illustrated stories starring the gassy little pug that started it all. Hilarious pug Phoebe is back, but she is not alone. See what happens when an unexpected new member enters the household. Follow the silly antics as our number one velcro dog wrestles with sharing the spotlight. Of course, with its classic curly tail and squishy face, only a pug can pull off being both naughty and irresistible. Double the chaos. Double the fun. Another laugh-out-loud, read-aloud story perfect for children ages 2-8 and dog (and cat!) lovers of all ages.
