Hallmark Gold Crown has started a 2-year partnership with Best Friends Animal Society to help homeless pets find loving homes. Hallmark is donating $100,000 to Best Friends Animal Society to help dogs and cats find forever homes this fall and winter with adoption events to help 2,000 pets find their forever homes.
I introduced you to Hank our sweet Boxer who we adopted a few weeks ago. He was a lonely homeless dog at the shelter. He has just blossomed over the last few weeks. He was skin and bones and now he’s a big muscle dog.
He’s such a big ball of love. I can’t imagine life without him now. There is nothing better than when he greets us at the door after picking up the kids from school. The kids just fawn all over him, and he just laps it all up.
When I told Molly we were getting these stuffed animals and the book, she was so excited she had to read it to Hank. I thought it was just perfect since we just recently adopted Hank into our family.

All of my pets have been rescues. I once found a kitten when I was 7 that had been spray painted yellow and was living in an alley, with his brother who had his tail cut off and sadly died. I brought home the spray painted kitten and he lived a long and happy life with us. He lived to be 16 and he was the best cat ever!

Yes, we have! We adopted our only family dog, Ruby, who was a Redbone hunting hound, from our local animal shelter when we lived in Wisconsin. She was about 9 months old when we adopted her, and she had been abused, but after coming to live with our family she flourished. She was our sons best friend and his little bodyguard. She slept in bed with him every night and followed him everywhere. She passed away when she was 8 due to some health complications. That was 3 years ago.. our son is now 13 and is just now starting to talk about wanting another pet, so we are considering adopting another 🙂

I’ve pulled dozens of dogs from the shelter and rehomed them as a foster or on my own. I currently have one I bought from a breeder and he’s a great dog too. It’s more about the individual animal than the circumstance behind how they came to be with you.

We have one dog we love now. We are looking to rescue our next dog.
My Tiger was a flea-ridden, starving orphan. We found him hiding in the bushes. My husband told me to leave him there, but the kitten cried and tried to get in the car with us, so I took him home. My husband wasn’t going to keep him, but after a bath and meal, Tiger fell asleep on my husband’s chest. Now, 2 years later, Tiger’s favorite place is still my husbands lap.
