Little House on the Prairie is coming to Netflix!
Netflix is bringing Little House on the Prairie back for a brand-new generation. The new series follows the Ingalls family as they leave Wisconsin and begin a new life on the Kansas prairie, with a fresh cast bringing Laura, Mary, Ma, and Pa to life. The eight-episode season promises plenty of heart, adventure, family, and frontier spirit when it premieres next month.
Did you know Laura Ingalls and her family didn’t always live in Walnut Grove? For a time, they moved from the Big Woods in Wisconsin to Independence, Kansas in the middle of Osage territory. And this is when the new reboot of Little House on the Prairie is taking place. It’s a new story!
Little House on the Prairie has been part of my life for as long as I can remember. It helped shape my love of storytelling and taught me to find magic in ordinary things, such as a handmade gift, time spent with family, and the feeling of home. The stories showed me that life could be difficult and still hold joy, adventure, and hope.
That message still feels relevant today. We may not live in log cabins or travel by covered wagon, but families are still navigating uncertainty, stretching what they have, and trying to build a good life in a complicated world. Little House on the Prairie reminds us to be resourceful, appreciate the small things, and keep going when life does not unfold the way we expected.

The complete first season, inspired by Laura Ingalls Wilder’s beloved books, arrives on Netflix on July 9, 2026. You can learn more HERE!
