First things first. Remember the Chocolate Syrup Recipe I blogged about for my weekly Make It Pinterest post? I figured a way to use no corn syrup by increasing the water. It came out just wonderful. We had a few glasses of chocolate milk, yum! Then, last night we had breakfast for dinner. It’s a special treat when momma makes crepes. We ended up drizzling chocolate syrup on crepes. So so good!! You can find the new recipe down below.
Updated Homemade Chocolate Syrup
Ingredients:
3/4 cup cocoa
1 1/2 cups sugar
1 tsp vanilla
a pinch of salt
1 cup of water
Mix all ingredients EXCEPT vanilla in a sauce pan. Bring to a rolling boil, then simmer for 1 minute. Whisking occasionally. Remove from heat, stir in the vanilla. Then, allow it to cool and pour in a mason jar. Keep refrigerated.
Great for chocolate milk, ice cream, whatever. Chocolate syrup can make just about anything taste better.
I think I’m going to find one of those olive oil carafes that has the long metal tip for pouring. What are those things called? Meh, I’ll figure it out on Amazon, lol. Then I thought we could use that for easy pouring. Then, I don’t have to get a spoon dirty every time someone wants chocolate milk. It’s all about efficiency, baby.
Enjoy!!
And lastly, it’s been awhile since we’ve added new items to The TipToe Fairy store @ Etsy. So guess what we’re doing all this week? Yep, stocking the store.
Every day we’ll be adding new things. More mermaid tales of a different color! More knotty dolls! Baby onesies and more! And some new items, too! Check back often to see what’s new.

I’m going to try this today!! My boys LOVE chocolate milk and I can’t stand the syrupy stuff you can buy… Thanks so much!
Just bounced over from Saving 6 Six. Wal-Mart carries the oil bottles with the metal pour tips. Also, you can get those plastic condiment bottles–like the ketchup holders–at the dollar store for, well a dollar. That would hold it nicely. 🙂
This looks great, I can’t wait to try it. My kids love chocolate milk but I don’t like the garbage in the store bought stuff, this looks like a great replacement!

That’s a great idea not to use corn syrup! 🙂 Can’t wait to try this one! Thank you so much for linking up with me this week at Tasty Tuesdays! I’ve pinned this & shared it with my followers! Please be sure to stop back by the party and check out some of the other links!
This is great especially since there is not corn syrup! I would much rather make my own. I think I’ll keep my bottle when we finish up the one we have now and fill it with this instead! This will be featured on Great Idea Thursday’s! Krista @ A Handful of Everything
This is just heavenly…I can picture it drizzled on any dessert and even to sweeten my coffee! Thanks for sharing Stephanie..love the vintage header of your blog! Came over to visit you from Anyonita’s party!
This is such a fantastic recipe idea for Chocolate Syrup! I just made Caramel Syrup today and wished I had seen this I would have made both!!!
I was surprised at how easy it was. My kids love it. I just keep a corked bottle of it in the fridge door. They love a little bit of chocolate in their milk.
Thanks so much for this recipe Stephanie! I couldn’t believe the amount of rubbish and additives when I read the ingredients list for a couple of commercial brands. I will most definitely be making your recipe for my summer ice cream! 🙂
