Sweet Pepper Poppers

  • Author: Stephanie Pass
  • Total Time: 25 minutes
  • Yield: 14-16 1x

A sweet and easy alternative to hot and spicy jalapeno poppers.

  • olive oil
  • 78 mini sweet peppers
  • VELVEETA® sharp cheddar brick, cubed
  • slices of bacon
  • onion powder
  • garlic powder
  • pepper to taste

  1. Preheat the grill to 400 degrees.
  2. Wash and halve the peppers, removing the seeds
  3. Cut two 1-inch slices of VELVEETA® sharp cheddar and then cube it into 1/2-oz pieces .
  4. Place one cube into the middle of each pepper.
  5. Sprinkle a little onion powder and garlic powder over the cheese.
  6. Wrap each pepper/cheese in a slice of bacon. Skewer with toothpick if necessary,
  7. Place the poppers around the grill, try avoiding directly placing them on flames as the bacon fat will make it flare up.
  8. Grill for about 20 minutes — only move them if flare ups start to happen.
  9. Serve immediately.
