Bagel Breakfast Casserole & Easy Strawberry Shortcake



Bagel Breakfast Casserole

  • Thomas’ Pre-sliced Plain Bagels 6 ct.
  • Jimmy Dean Regular Premium Pork Sausage, 16 oz.
  • 8 oz cheddar cheese, shredded
  • 4 eggs
  • 2 cups of milk
  • 68 green onions
  • 1/2 tsp seasoning salt
  • 1/4 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • pinch of black pepper

Strawberry Shortcake

  • Sara Lee All Butter Pound Cake, 16 oz.
  • 1 pint of strawberries, sliced
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup strawberry preserves, heated 30 seconds
  • 1 container of whipped topping


Bagel Breakfast Casserole

  1. Spray a 9 x 13 casserole dish with olive oil spray.
  2. Cut the bagels into bite size pieces.
  3. Combine the bagel pieces and cheddar cheese in the dish.
  4. Brown the sausage and drain the grease.
  5. Add the sausage to the bagel/cheese mixture and stir it up just a bit.
  6. Combine eggs, milk, salt, seasoning salt, pepper, and garlic powder and mix until well combined.
  7. Pour the milk mixture over the bagel mixture.
  8. Allow to sit for at least 10 minutes or in the fridge overnight.
  9. Preheat oven to 350 F degrees.
  10. Bake for 20-25 minutes until top bagels are turning golden brown.
  11. Remove from oven, and add chopped green onions.
  12. Allow to cool for 5 minutes or so before serving.

Strawberry Shortcake

  1. Allow the whipped topping to defrost on the counter for around 4 hours (or make fresh whipped cream when ready to put the cake together).
  2. Slice the strawberries and mix with 1/2 cup of sugar.
  3. Set the strawberries aside to let the sugar pull the juices out for 30 minutes to an hour.
  4. Heat the strawberry preserves for 30 seconds and then mix 1/2 cup with the strawberries.
  5. Slice the frozen pound cake in half.
  6. Spread the strawberries over the bottom half of the pound cake.
  7. Spread half the whipped topping over the strawberries.
  8. Add the top of the pound cake back on.
  9. Spread the rest of the whipped topping over the top of the pound cake and let it fall down the sides just a bit.
  10. Garnish with fresh strawberries and allow it to sit in the fridge for an hour before serving.
