Are you an Amazon Prime member? We have had Amazon Prime for years. The benefits are amazing from two-day shipping to free television. I had no idea that Amazon Cloud Drive was included in my Prime membership. Did you?
If you are an Amazon Prime member, you already have access to Amazon Cloud Drive with Prime Photos, which provides unlimited photo storage as part of your Prime membership. In addition, Prime members get 5 GB of additional storage space for videos, movies, music, and files.
Now Amazon recently announced two unlimited storage plans, both start with a free 3-month trial:
- Unlimited Everything Plan ($59.99 per year—equivalent of less than $5 per month): Store an infinite number of new and existing photos, videos, files, documents, movies, and music in Cloud Drive.
- Unlimited Photos Plan ($11.99 per year—equivalent of less than $1 per month): Similar to the Prime member benefit – non Prime members can also store an infinite number of photos in Cloud Drive without worrying about taking up space on phones, cameras, or other devices. This plan also includes 5 GB of additional storage for videos or other documents and files.
As a blogger I take TONS of photos, and I mean tons. I back up a lot, but there’s always fear that something will happen to my computer or an external hard drive, and those pictures I need will be lost. This happened to me recently. Earlier this year, my computer died. I knew it was on it’s way out, so I had set up an external hard drive to automatically save everything. Unfortunately, it didn’t save about 2 days worth of photos.
Then, I got an email about four months later that a huge food company wanted the original photos to a recipe I had made. They were putting it in a recipe booklet that will be in thousands of stores next year. I was thrilled….until I went looking for the photos. They were in that two days of photos that didn’t make it to the hard drive. Let’s just say I had a heart attack.
My dad ended up saving the day. He is a computer engineer and was able to get the photos off my old computer’s hard drive. Â Since we live about an hour away, he was able to send them to me through my Amazon Cloud Drive within a couple hours. Â So, I was able to get those photos to the company quickly. Disaster averted!
Amazon Cloud Drive lets you securely back up and store existing content and you can set it up to automatically upload endless amounts of new content, including photos, videos, movies, music, and files.
You can access it via the web on Mac, PC, and tablets. To get started, click HERE.
I found the easiest way to get started is with the Amazon Photo app, available on both Android and iOS devices. You can set it to automatically back up your camera roll, and you can set it to do this via WiFi only (to save data) or WiFi and cellular. In addition, the Amazon Photo app allows you to access your photos and personal videos across devices, so if your husband took a great photo and you need to Instagram it, you can easily grab it from the cloud!
No worries as your photos and files can be shared via private links from within the Amazon Photo app or by selecting a folder or file to be shared using Amazon Cloud Drive on your computer. It’s that easy!
If you’re looking for an affordable cloud drive to keep all your photos, videos, and files safe, make sure to check out Amazon Cloud Drive! It’s such an easy way to keep it all!

I don’t know….there are so many free photo storage sites that I just can’t bring myself to pay to store photos right now.
I lost all of my photos when my computer received a nasty virus from a link on Facebook. I really need to check this out for my photo storage.
All of this cloud business is totally and utterly overwhelming to me. All I know is that I want free storage that lasts and is user friendly.
I don’t normally use any cloud storage. But this sounds awesome! I’m going to keep researching on it.
This sounds really nice. I’m just overflowing with data as a blogger. I can see how this could help tons of people who work on computers.
I always worry about not bring able to find photos I’ve posted on my blog again, but they’re all saved to my google plus account since I use blogger.
I didn’t even know Amazon have their own cloud service. Totally worth looking into especially as backups for all the photos I took. Thanks for your in-depth review.
I haven’t used Amazon Cloud Drive before, but it sounds like it could come in real handy!
My sister is an Amazon Prime member. I don’t know if she’s already using this. I will share this post with her.
Amazon Cloud sounds like a great deal. I am sure almost everyone struggles with storage space these days. This one could come in really handy!
I have never used my Amazon cloud drive but it sounds like it may be a good backup to my dropbox account.
I didn’t realize that Amazon offered a cloud service. I’m not sure I would pay that much a year, to be honest. But I think it’s a great deal for larger businesses.
I love this idea. My storage is always filling up everywhere else lol. Plus I love amazon and they are trusted.
I’ve lost pictures that weren’t online (from way back in the day). It’s heart wrenching if you think about it, so I try not to. 🙂
I had my hard drive crash last year and I lost all of my pictures. I wish I had Amazon Cloud then!
I really should look into something like this! Now that I have my daughter, I would be devastated if i lost any of her photos!
I’ve been meaning to check out the Amazon cloud service, I’m a huge photo hoarder and feel like I could really take advantage of the storage options!
